Workshops and video on the eradication of Pampa grass
The Pampas feather grass (Lamb's-earsIt is an alien species, native to the subtropical regions of South America, which tends to become dominant wherever it is established and displaces existing vegetation, both native and alien.
With the aim of improving the techniques for controlling and eliminating this plant, the Lourizán Forestry Research Centre is developing the concerted action. AC2020-09 Strategies and systems for the eradication of Pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana). Adaptation of a contact herbicide applicator, in collaboration with the Forestry Association of Galicia, and co-financed by the Ministry of Rural Affairs and FEADER.
Within this programme, two open days are now organised for the public:
- 27 January in Tomiño (Casa dos Mestres Cultural Centre in Amorín)
- 28 January in A Pobra do Caramiñal (Valle-Inclán Museum Auditorium)
The two sessions will run from 10 am to 1 pm and will include a demonstration session on eradication of Cottongrass.
