The objectives of forest regeneration can be very varied and, in most cases, several objectives are achieved at once, since the wooded stand can provide a range of products and services: timber, mushrooms, recreation, etc., and promote the conservation of ecosystems, improve the landscape and wildlife habitats, reduce the risk of erosion, etc.

The profitability of a repopulation (economic, ecological…) is fundamental to ensuring its conservation.

For the decision-making required when carrying out a reforestation, the forest owner must have the necessary technical information to enable a sound choice of the species to be planted, the most appropriate preparation methods compatible with environmental protection, among other things.

One Forest Replanting Project It is a technical document that develops and details the works to be carried out for the installation of a plantation on the mountain, so that its monitoring allows for the execution of the necessary works.

In general, every forest repopulation project consists of:

• Memory which will be contractual in nature and will set out the needs the owner wishes to satisfy, as well as all factors to be taken into account, based on an analysis of the natural, legal and economic constraints. In this section a detailed description is given of all the work processes: choice of species and, once the species and the characteristics of the stand are known, the method of afforestation, the initial density of the stand to be created and an assessment of the quantity of planting stock required, the need for and type of treatment of the existing vegetation, site preparation and the subsequent care the planting would require.
• Tender for Technical Specifications where the description of the works will be detailed and their execution regulated.
• Measurements and quote where the work units and measurements are indicated, and the unit costs and budget items are detailed, as well as the total budget.
• Plans of the whole and of the detail, necessary for the work to be perfectly defined and to be executed by the contractor.
