Since its creation in 1986, the AFG has devoted a large part of its activity to training for forest owners and members of community woodlands. Topics such as the silviculture of pines and broadleaves, forestry taxation, forest certification, and pests and diseases have been the subject of more than 500 specialised courses delivered throughout Galicia.
The organisation of forestry congresses and forums is another of the tasks to which the Association pays special attention; among others, the following may be highlighted:
