Bulletin no. 3 of the COMPÁS project has been published
The COMPASS project publishes its third newsletter, which includes a selection of the work done in recent months on the project.
Among them is the mini-video made by the Galician Forestry Association, in collaboration with the Private Communal Neighboring Forest Owners of Sabaxáns (Mondariz) on prescribed burns, also called controlled burns, to publicize the use of this very useful tool for fire prevention and pasture creation, as long as it is done with the proper precautions.
The focus group meetings in Andalusia and Navarre are reviewed to try to achieve more appropriate legislation so that the pyric herbivory can be fully implemented as a common tool for creating pastures on forest land.
The meeting held in Granada with pastoral professionals and technicians from the Andalusian Regional Council, CSIC and the Association of Pastors for the Mediterranean Mountains for the dissemination and promotion of pyric herbivory in Andalusia is also included.

The project COMPAS it is coordinated by the Public University of Navarra in which the Galician Forestry Association (AFG), the Experimental Station of Zaidín de Granada (CSIC), the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Association of Shepherds for the Mediterranean Forest also participate.
COMPAS has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
