NaturSmart.- Marketing and rural entrepreneurship courses in Lugo and Ourense
The forestry sector, agriculture, livestock, food processing, digital communication, nature or gastronomic routes, rural accommodation, catering, natural cosmetics and personal care, leisure, crafts, sports, retail, personal services, trades, experiences, business advice, real estate services, etc. All these sectors/activities can be developed successfully in rural environments.
To facilitate the implementation of these initiatives, the NaturSmart project proposes two training courses for entrepreneurs in rural areas, one oriented towards digital marketing and another, more specific, on rural entrepreneurship.
The goal of the Marketing course and personal brand is to know key aspects for the promotion and digital sale of products and services, as well as learning to use digital tools for promotion and digital marketing, recognizing and identifying data analysis tools applied to digital marketing and the opportunities that it offers to professionals and companies located in rural areas.
The goal of the Rural entrepreneurship course is to make known and identify the key aspects to face an entrepreneurial project adapted to this environment, with some peculiarities, reducing as much as possible the risk for the entrepreneur, as well as knowing and applying the Business Model (BMM) methodology, and identifying and developing essential skills to face entrepreneurial projects in rural environments, knowing and applying basic financial concepts for an entrepreneurial project.
The ultimate goal is for the person who completes the courses to have sufficient knowledge to face the entrepreneurial process with the least possible risk, identifying the opportunities and value of the resources offered by the rural environment and, in addition, knowing how to handle digital marketing tools to publicize their project, product or services among their target audience, being able to analyze the results of their campaigns for continuous improvement and obtaining greater income.
Students will present a real or fictitious project to develop throughout the courses, and will provide data and tools that facilitate the design, planning, execution and analysis of each marketing and entrepreneurship project to reduce the risks and the time required to convert the entrepreneurship into a profitable and economically sustainable company. It is expected that at least one job will be created in the surrounding area of the Quiroga and Carballiño regions.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The courses will be taught in four 2.5-hour sessions that will be offered through the virtual class in learning platform (LMS) – Sustainability Academy, https://academiadesostenibilidad.mybrainspro.com/In addition, content will be made available to students for monitoring the sessions and carrying out practices.
At the end of each session, participants will be given tasks to develop personal projects or simulations. The different tasks from each session will be taken into account for the evaluation at the end of the course.
It is also planned to carry out an initial evaluation of the projects or simulations (that will be worked on) at the beginning of the course and another at the end so that the learning outcomes can be appreciated and consolidated.

- Phase I. Introduction to entrepreneurship. Rural entrepreneurship model
- Phase II. Project launching.

Speaker: Gerónimo Sánchez. (experience of more than 25 years in rural entrepreneurship. Main speaker of the entrepreneurship course editions of the National Rural Network and external advisor to the Agroecosistema Foundation) and Daniel Escribano, digital marketing expert with 29 years of experience in developing internet projects. He will be in charge of deploying the marketing strategy using all available means.
After the phases of the course, four support sessions will be held in each one in different locations in the pilot areas of the project (Ourense, Lugo, León, Segovia and Cuenca).
The sessions will be on Tuesdays 6, 13, 20 and 27 May 2025, from 5.00pm–7.30pm (Spanish peninsular time) and the time and place of each will be announced soon.
