Newsletter of the COMPÁS project
The COMPÁS project has published a new newsletter in which some of the activities carried out so far in the project are collected.
The project "Models of regional development on pyric herbivory, a tool for environmental conservation and the fixation and protection of the population (COMPÁS)", led by the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA), is working on the implementation of pilot models of pyric herbivory for protection against forest fires.
This second issue of the newsletter focuses above all on the activities carried out by the Estación Experimental Zaidín of the CSIC, which from Granada are participating very actively in the project together with the Asociación Pastores por el Monte Mediterráneo and report on the first results of the satellite data from the GPS collars that are being experimented with to control cattle in the mountains.
Estación Experimental Zaidín also informs us that they are monitoring vulnerable species in the project's pilot area to analyze their survival and development after carrying out prescribed burning.
These and other news can be read in this newsletter which can be accessed by clicking here.
The project COMPAS counts on the support of Fundación Biodiversidad of the Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico (MITECO) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
