The Forestry Association of Galicia is organising a course on forest management for forest owners and managers.
The course, which will be held in Santiago, will include field trips to Oroso, Curtis, Pico Sacro and Fragas do Eume.
The Forestry Association of Galicia, in collaboration with FSC International, organises between the 11 and 15 March A course aimed at forest managers, both owners and technicians. The training programme, which includes lectures, practical sessions and field visits, seeks to improve participants' knowledge of forest management.
The course is part of the Forest-IN project, promoted by organisations from Spain, France and Portugal to advance forest education. Attendance at the course is free of charge, but you must register in advance by sending an email to afg@asociacionforestal.org or by calling the telephone number 981 564 011.
The training programme includes both lectures and field visits. The presentations and practical classes will take place in Santiago (Pilgrimage Museum, Praza das Praterías), and visits are planned to the land-pooling areas of Oroso and Curtis, to the demonstration site on Pico Sacro (Boqueixón) and to the Fragas do Eume Natural Park.
The course, in which owners and technicians from Galicia, the rest of Spain, Portugal and France will participate, will address various forestry issues of interest, such as silvopasture, the Land Bank, land consolidation, forest certification, medicinal plants and the practical management of forest units.
